給予孩子的建議:

1.     我(現在)以為火車在我到車站前就開走了。有兩種寫法，務必要把它弄懂。

I think the train had gone before I arrived at the station.

   我(過去)以為火車在我到車站前就開走了。

I thought the train had gone before I arrived at the station.

è 這個說法你會比較好懂，因為火車離開的動作在你到達車站之前，而過去完成式是過去式的過去式

2.     (有件事)讓我鬆了一口氣的是，火車誤點30分鐘，所以我可以從容地上車。建議改為:

The thing (which / that) let me feel relaxed is (that) the train is delayed for thirty minutes, so I can take (= get on) the train freely / unhurriedly / slowly.

è 用一個關代來點出句子的主詞，(which / that) let me feel relaxed用來形容有一件讓我鬆口氣的事情

è 火車誤點幾分鐘的用法可參考之。另外，

The train is behind the schedule for 30 minutes. 也是誤點幾分鐘的說法。可練習之!

è 從容的單字可以參考前面兩個，順便多背些單字。其中，hurry為匆忙之意，unhurry為其反義詞。

3.     對一位老師來說，不放棄任何學生是很重要的。這句大致上寫得不錯，有些細節須修改而已。

For / To a teacher, it is important to never give up any student. / never giving up any student is important.

è 前面為虛主詞的用法，後面是動名詞當主詞的用法，兩個都好，it’s up to you(看你)!

4.     他必須盡其所能的努力，使一個學生能充分展現最好的一面。

He must / has to try his best to make his student perform best.

è 盡其所能有好多用法，最簡單的就是: try his best to VR = makes his effort to VR， 兩個用法都差不多也都不難，可以都記起來，會使你得文章更生動些。

è Make 為使役動詞的用法，一定要非常非常留意，不可以不可以加 to! 因為你會念起來很順。

使役動詞要加VR:　make 人　do 事物。但help 為例外: + to VR / Ving，可詳見老師上課的筆記。

5.     雖然Thelma 知道電視壞了，但他沒有找人來修。這句話也寫得不錯，很讚！

Although Thelma knows (that) the television is broken, she doesn’t fix (= repair) it.

è TV盡量寫為television。

6.     他想要過沒有電視的簡單生活。

She wants to live (=lead to) a easy life without a television.

è 過著…的生活：Live = lead to ，這個用法我們昨天才說過，可以練習用用看。

è 沒有電視的生活，我們可以試著用後衛修飾( 介＋Ｎ)的方法來練習。a easy life without a television

例如：帶著紅帽子的女孩　a girl with a red hat

7.     該作家的最新創作都是有關網路對於每個人的生活影響。

The writer’s latest book (=novel) is about how the Net (=Internet) effect people life.

è New / newer / newest，但latest是個非常非常棒的字，可以記起來。

è how the Net (=Internet) effect people life.　是個名詞字句的用法，其實就你們以前國三間接問句的用法，老師的講義還在嗎？名詞子句：wh- / h- S + V 例如：what you say / how you feel
