學生作文




給予孩子的建議:

1.     On Chinese New Year’s Eve, a dog, Ian, was sitting on the floor as (=while) Phebe was cooking delicious and delicate cuisines in the kitchen.
è On + 一年只過一次的節日。另外,in 可表在期間 = during
è a dog, Ian,  小狗的名子叫Ian 可用同位語表示之。
è when = as / while = as 的用法可參考老師的連接詞講義。而while 通常與 Ving (動作連續) 連用。
è 菜餚: cuisines = dishes
2.     Can’t help but + V.R.
è Can’t help but make its mouth water = Cant help but run at the mouth.
Mouth-watering 為形容詞的用法。 例如: Ivan is mouth-watering when he saw the delicious cuisine.
3.     荐漳想表達的意思應該是: 同時間,某人聽見一個奇怪的聲音正在接近廚房。可改為:
At the same time, strange sound was approaching the kitchen.
è 刪除step是因為 聲音不會踏進廚房阿!只有才會做step 的動作。

老師提供荐漳以下寫法:
At the same time, Phebe’s wife notice a man with the gorilla costumes appraoched and stepped into the kitchen. The scene scared his wife a lot!
4.     Not knowing what happen, his wife wanted to call the police and his husband for help.
è 因為不知道發生什麼事,他太太想尋求警察或是丈夫的協助。
è Not knowing 為省略 連接詞 主詞的分詞用法,請練習之。另外,call somebody’s for help 為上星期上課教過的用法,也可練習之。
5.    However, Phebe’s wife were not aware that the gorilla is a special gift which his husband dressed up.
è 此句為第二張圖片與第三張圖片之緩衝句(承上啟下)句。
6.     看見他太太驚慌的樣子,Ian決定要把真相告訴太太了。
Seeing the scare, Ian decided to tell the truth to his wife.

7.     Ian immediately turned off the mask and gave his wife a bunch of flowers.
è 這句寫得不錯! Good ^^
8.     第八句開始可以說明為什麼要送花? 其實就是要增加文章的篇幅、長度。
Because today is her birthdday, Ian was willing to show his blessing.
   可簡單說明夫婦兩人的心情。
After realizing the her husband’s mind, his wife felt thoughtful and touching.
   更可簡單說明小狗的心情。
With the happiness atmosphere (氣氛), their dog enjoy the dishes as well and wag its tail. (搖尾巴)
   結尾可簡單說明,這一家人在除夕夜的狀況。(某個程度需要想像一下)
After the accident, Ian and his wife clean the dishes which was fallen on the floor and then cook the dishes toghther! With the unforgettable memory, they spent the whole night with their dog pet joyfully.

以下幾點提醒荐漳:
1.     可先用中文將想表達的意思寫下,之後再翻譯成英文,以維持文章的邏輯性。
2.     注意其分段! 建議: 可將第一句至第六句歸類為第一段,其餘歸類為第二段。

給予孩子的建議:

1.  Mass media 大眾媒體   social media  社交媒體
Mess  凌亂的狀態   messy 凌亂的
Social  社交的    socialty  社會
The mass (public) media has a significant (= an important) effect on the socialty.

2.  Tell A from B = distinguish A from B  分辨AB的不同
However, citizens need to tell the truth from opinions.
= However, citizens need to tell the difference between the truth and opinions.
è 兩者用法皆可,可自行運用!

3.  Identify with 認同      peer 同儕 = classmate
Teenagers (=adolescents) could identify with their peers (group).

4.  而不是的用法可參考instead / instead of à 詳見上課筆記
When they have trouble,                  
When they are in trouble,         they turn to (=seek) friends’ help ( = support) instead of their parents.
When they are trapped in (困住) trouble,

5.  如果人當作主詞,喝咖啡當作動詞,這個句子或許會簡單些。
In Taiwan, more and more people drink coffee.
又或者是練習the number of 的句型。(……的數量)
In Taiwan, the number of people who drink coffee is increasing.

6.  Every day, many people are used to drinking coffee in the early morning.
à 兩個時間副詞(every day/ in the early morning)重疊時,可嘗試擺放不同位置。
è  Be used to ving / be used to VR   的相關用法,請參考上課筆記。
è  
7.  此句重點為: AB的用法。請詳見上課筆記。
Many parents regarded their children as treasure.   Value (X)  property (X)

8.  最後一句寫得算是不錯,但仍有小錯誤,顯得有些可惜!
As their children can’t reach (= meet) their expectation, they may take the punishment.

英文講義--Need 的用法


Need 可當 1.「半語氣助動詞」(marginal modal or semi-modal dareought to used to 也是屬於這類助動詞) 2. 普通動詞用。前者與其他語氣助動詞一樣,後接原形動詞,但它幾乎都是用在否定句 (少部分用在) 問句中。例如:
  • He needn’t earn overtime. (他不必賺加班費)
  • You needn’t take off your shoes. (你不必脫鞋)
  • Need I reply? (我必須回覆嗎?)
當語氣助動詞用的 need 鮮少用於肯定句,除非是在正式的上下文中。但即使 need 後面未接 not,句子中也幾乎都會使用 no onenobodynothing 等否定詞,使得句子仍屬否定句。例如:
  • Nothing need be done about his birthday party untill Saturday. (週六之前有關他的生日派對,什麼事都不必做)
  • Nobody need trouble about this. (沒有人必須為這事操心)
  • No one need write a report about this book. (沒有人必須寫這本書的讀書報告)
  • Not a thing need change on this document. (這份文件不必做任何修改)
當語氣助動詞用的 need 是直接在後面加上 not 來變成否定,即 need not (正式的寫法),但可縮寫為 needn’t (非正式的寫法)。所以,我們不可在 need 的前面再加上 don’t/doesn’t/didn’t。例如:
  • You need not worry about this issue. (你不用擔心這問題) ()
  • You needn’t worry about this issue. ()
  • You don’t need worry about this issue. ()
當語氣助動詞用的 need 也很少用於問句,除非是在正式的上下文中。Need 用於問句時是直接挪到的主詞的前面,句末加上問號。所以,我們不可在主詞的前面使用 Do/Does/Did。例如:
  • Need you go so soon? (你需要這麼早走嗎?) ()
  • Do you need go so soon? ()
當語氣助動詞用的 need 不可再跟其他語氣助動詞連用。例如:
  • No one need write a report about this book. ()
  • No one need must write a report about this book. ()
  • No one must need write a report about this book. ()
當語氣助動詞用的 need 沒有過去型。所以,若要表示過去的「必須,必要,需要」,所們要使用 didn’t need to (need 在此為普通動詞) didn’t have to。例如:
  • We didn’t need to lend money to him. (我們不必把錢借給他) ()
  • We didn’t have to lend money to him. ()
  • We didn’t need lend money to him. ()
Needn’t have + P.P. didn’t need to + 原形動詞 都是在表示過去發生的事件
è Needn’t have done 是表示本來不必做或用不著做,但卻做了(與過去事實相反)
è didn’t need to do 則是表示不必做或用不著做,但有可能做了,也可能沒做。例如:
  • Mary needn’t have taken her umbrella. (瑪麗本來不用帶傘的) - 但她卻帶了。
  • Mary didn’t need to take her umbrella. (瑪麗不必帶傘) - 但實際上可能帶了,也可能沒帶。
當語氣助動詞用的 need need to 可以互換,但當普通動詞用的 need 須接帶 to 的不定詞,而且有人稱、數和時態的變化。例如:
  • Need you study? (你必須唸書嗎?)
    Do you need to study?
  • He needn’t study. (他不必唸書)
    He doesn’t need to study.
  • He needs to study. (他必須唸書) - 在肯定句中,need 幾乎都是用作普通動詞;主詞為第三人稱單數,動詞須加 s
Need 後面若要接名詞片語或動名詞,則 need 只能用作普通動詞。例如:
  • I don’t need a jacket. (我不需要外套) ()
    I needn’t a jacket. (
    )
  • The room doesn’t need painting. (房間不需要粉刷) ()
    = The room doesn’t need to be painted.
    à 以現在分詞(Ving)代替被動的特例之一
    The room needn’t painting. (
    )
